Music Video: Drake – “Worst Behavior”

Drake drops the much awaited visuals for Nothing Was The Same‘s most energetic track, “Worst Behavior” (“Muhfukkaaaas”). Directed by Director X, the video serves almost as an ode to Drake’s father’s hometown of Memphis,Tennessee–starting out with Dennis Graham performing with a blues band, a sound that Memphis is known for. The video includes: Drake roaming the streets of Memphis while wearing plenty of OVO chains, getting embraced by the people and interpolates snippets of two other songs from Nothing Was The Same (“From Time” and “Its Yourz”). It also features a skit from OVO members, Ryan and O’brien chopping it up with Juicy J and Project Pat, serving some awkward comic relief. Music Videos are usually Drake’s weak point, so its nice seeing Drake deliver a solid offering, that simultaneously happens to cement his father’s status as a pimp (we see you Mr. Graham!).

New Video: The Dream – “IV Play”

17 May

Today, Terius Nash (AKA The Dream) dropped the music video for his single “IV Play” which shares the same title as his album which will be dropping later this month. The music video is directed by Director X and oozes decadence, complete with a helicopter, furs, cars, video girls, and beautiful architecture. Honestly, the video didn’t particularly excite me, but “IV Play” itself is one of the best (if not the best) R&B songs that I have heard in 2013. Judge for yourself.

Chisom’s Two Cents: “IV Play” is my favorite R&B track of 2013…and while Christine may not have been THAT excited about the video, I thought it was quite nice… IVPlay
